Intuit only adds significant new capabilities to QuickBooks once a year. However, it will fix and substantially extend online banking in December and soon after. Intuit also added three new Intuit Connected Services to the Intuit Enterprise Suite in October. It was developing the sales application in-house and using Corrigo's WorkTrack Service Management and AccuCode's Velocity Inventory for field service and warehouse management applications. This led to a September 11, 2008 ChannelWeb article, Intuit Sets Collision Course With Microsoft With On-Demand Apps. It quotes Mario Nowogrodzki, my co-organizer of the South Florida QuickBooks Meetup (the largest anywhere, and its free). The score in prior Intuit vs Microsoft collisions is 10 to nothing in favor of Intuit. QuickBooks recently had 94.2% of recent small business accounting program sales at retail. It also had 400 ProAdvisors advertise for New York, where Microsoft had 2. Finally, Intuit has 75,000 QuickBooks add-ons developers, many of whom are sure to rush QuickBooks Add-ons using the new QuickBooks 2009 capabilities.

Therefore, you should soon see an eleveth clear case of Intuit beating Microsoft.
